The Magic Happens In The First 20 Minutes Of The Day

What’s the very first thing you do as soon as you have woken up?

Your subconscious mind is a partner to your success. Start suggesting positive, empowering ideas with your subconscious, especially first thing every morning - and observe some major shifts in your life.

Do you yawn and stretch?
Maybe give a loved one a kiss and a smile?
Do you immediately reach for your phone?
Or maybe for the glass of water by your bedside?
Maybe you go for a jog or a morning walk?

I’d like to invite you to try something for a week.

Tomorrow morning (or whatever time of the day you awaken), as soon as you’ve opened your eyes, I’d like you to do some Declarations on how your day is going to turn out.

brain study done, shows that our subconscious minds are most active in the first 20 minutes after were awake. What this means is, that we can use this information, to train our brain to set the tone of the day.

The power of the subconscious mind has been the focus of psychological and leadership studies for decades, and what we know from all the research done, is that there we have within us, an immense power that is able to help us create the day and life that we desire.

In another study by Harvard University’s Dr Marcus Raichle, it was found that people who were able to effectively tune into their subconscious mind and present it with positive messages and suggestions, were more successful and happier in life.

So, here’s my invitation for you to try this:

For one week, introduce positive messages to your subconscious mind, by declaring some statements to yourself in the first 20 minutes of your day.

Here are some things you can say:

  • If you have an important meeting that day, suggest to your mind, that the meeting is going to turn out very well. Tell it that you will have all the information ready for you to manage this meeting in a very effective manner, with a favourable outcome. Ask your subconscious to gather up all the courage, confidence and suaveness you need to be exceptional at this meeting.
  • If you have arranged for a conversation with a difficult person to happen that day, tell your subconscious that you’ve got this. Say to it how smoothly this conversation will happen. If you can, see this conversation happening in your mind. See it panning out exactly as you intend it. See the other person smile. Feel the warmth of that successful conversation.
  • If you have a doctor’s appointment that you’ve been worrying about, tell your subconscious mind that this will be a good appointment. Hear your doctor saying “Oh wow! Look at that! You’re in amazing health!” or “Hmm, it’s really something. You’re perfectly healthy, it’s a miracle!” Feel yourself breaking into a smile of relief upon hearing the good news. See yourself driving home, smiling all the way because of the good diagnosis.

Your subconscious is your partner in your success story. Tell it how you want your day or life to go, and it will have to agree.

Your subconscious doesn’t fight your suggestions, it just does as it is told, so it’s really cool that you have some sort of certainty on how your day will turn out because you know that you’ve suggested empowering ideas to your subconscious to absorb.

How awesome is that?
