IN MEMORIAM • 1926–2026 A NATION LOST A MOTHER Remembering Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali A century of grace, compassion, service and quiet strength. A Personal Tribute by Dr. Amarjeet Singh @ AJ There are deaths that make headlines. There are deaths that close chapters of history. And then there are departures that somehow feel much more personal — as though someone from our own family has quietly left the room. The passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali at the age of 100 feels like that. Malaysia has lost more than the wife of a former Prime Minister. We have lost a doctor. A mother. A grandmother. A humanitarian. A sports lover. A musician. And a Malaysian whose gentleness touched generations. A nation has lost a mother. Tun Dr Siti Hasmah passed away on 28 September 2026 at the National Heart Institute, having celebrated her 100th birthday earlier in the year. She was laid to rest at Pusara Negara in Putr...
Part 2 | Najib, 1MDB and the Billion-Ringgit Questions — Dr. Amarjeet Singh @ AJ MALAYSIA • JUSTICE • ACCOUNTABILITY PART 2: NAJIB, 1MDB & THE BILLION-RINGGIT QUESTIONS Was Najib really corrupt? Where were the directors, bankers, auditors and regulators? And what happens when the next convicted VIP asks for similar treatment? By Dr. Amarjeet Singh @ AJ 22 September 2026 It cannot end with one man's house arrest. In Part 1, I asked whether Malaysia was losing its moral compass. Part 2 asks the questions that should follow every major corruption scandal: Who did what? Who knew? Who benefited? Who was prosecuted? What money came back? And what safeguards changed? Some still ask whether Najib was corrupt or made a scapegoat. Others ask why every board director was not convicted alongside him. Those questions deserve evidence-based answers, not slogans or political tribalism. The 1MDB story is bigger than one man. But the existence of other actors does not erase an individual's...
Anwar Ibrahim After Three Years — A Fair Malaysian Report Card 🇲🇾 Anwar Ibrahim After Three Years A Fair Report Card by a Malaysian Citizen Not blind support. Not automatic rejection. An assessment based on results, realities and the unfinished work ahead. The Johor state election delivered a powerful political message. For many Malaysians—especially those who once placed enormous hope in reform—the result reflected frustration and the belief that promised changes had not arrived quickly enough. But before we pass judgment, we must examine the complete picture. After more than three years in office, has Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim truly failed—or have we underestimated the complexity of what he inherited and the political limitations under which he has governed? A fair report card must recognise progress without becoming propaganda. It must also acknowledge weaknesses without pretending that nothing has impr...
RELATIONSHIPS • RESPECT • REALITY When Women No Longer Accept Silence The modern woman is not rejecting family, marriage or tradition. She is rejecting disrespect, inequality, control and emotional neglect. Male-dominated societies and religious leadership must recognise and accept that today’s highly educated and financially independent women may no longer tolerate being treated as inferior merely because of their gender. For generations, many societies were structured around one largely unquestioned belief: the man leads, and the woman follows. Men were often regarded as the unquestionable heads of families, communities and religious institutions. Women were expected to obey, adjust, sacrifice and remain silent—even when they were disrespected, neglected or denied the freedom to make decisions about their own lives. But the worl...

Liverpool 2026: Exciting Players, But Is This a Balanced Team? 2026–27 SEASON ANALYSIS Exciting Players—But Is This a Balanced Liverpool Team? A full evaluation of the summer transfer window, Andoni Iraola’s football, pre-season and Liverpool’s opening two Premier League matches. Analysis by Dr. Amarjeet Singh @ AJ Liverpool have bought exciting footballers—but they do not yet look like a balanced team. There is pace, courage and attacking potential. There is also a midfield that can be bypassed, a defence exposed in transition and a team still learning when to attack, when to press and when to protect itself. Premier League Match 1 Newcastle 2–2 Liverpool Premier League Match 2 Liverpool 2–2 Forest 2 Points 4 Goals scored 4 Goals conceded 0 Clean sheets Early warning Liverpool fell behind twice in both matches. They showed character to recover—but recovery cannot become the weekl...
